The "Midwest Highland Intensive" is a unique and exciting historical combat/swordsmanship workshop, including instruction by Maestro Paul Macdonald of Macdonald Armouries and the Macdonald Academy of Arms in Edinburgh, Scotland. This multi-day event brings an acknowledged expert and instructor in European Martial Arts to our doorstep.
NEW: Spectators are welcome for all workshops, for a small fee (which covers any additional rental/insurance obligations for the number of folks in the space). Pre-purchase of Spectator tickets is preferred, but allowed at the gate. We reserve the right to limit spectators based on available space. NO RECORDING OF ANY SORT ALLOWED WITHOUT EXPRESS CONSENT OF THE MAESTRO &/or EVENT ORGANIZER(S).

If you already own practice weapons (wood, composite, etc.) or stage-combat ready weapons (composite, steel, etc.), they are allowed, but must pass inspection to be used during any part of the workshops.
Apparel Requirements: sleeved shirts, full-toed footwear, and any additional personal safety gear. Fitted gloves are recommended. Other than that, dress for your individual comfort.
^ Anyone interested in Free Play/Sparring must be equipped with the above-mentioned as well as the following Safety Gear. Any exceptions must be approved by the Maestro.
